Brihaspati - Planet Jupiter spends 361 days in each sign of the zodiac
According to the Taittiriya Upanishad, Jupiter is the intellect and speech of the Virat Purusha, the Cosmic Body. Jupiter is also said to be the dwarf incarnation of Vishnu. In Vishnu Purana, Jupiter is said to be Brahma. Jupiter is also sometimes identified with Ganapati (Ganesh) and sometimes with Angiras (the priest of the gods and lord of sacrifice).
Story also prevails that the wife of Angiras gave birth to Brahaspati, the presiding deity of mental powers and the teacher of gods. Jupiter is the teacher of the science of light i.e. vedic astrology and astronomy. He rules the Sun and the Moon and also controls the movement of the planets.
